We Had No Hot Water

My daughter came into my room crying the other morning. I was not too concerned because she is at that age where anything can make the tears flow. I told her to calm down and tell me the issue, fully expecting it to be about one of her siblings. She was crying because she did not want to take a cold shower. I had to laugh until I realized she was being literal. I went into the bathroom and was dismayed myself to feel just cold water. I knew a visit from an emergency plumber in Bergen County NJ was in our immediate future.

I knew that it was possible that I would not be able to get anyone out there for a day or so, but I had to try. I have three kids, and all four of us needed hot water to get through the day. Going one day without it would be inconvenient but we are spoiled enough to not want to go even that long with just cold water coming out of the showers and sinks. I went online and did a quick search for emergency plumbers, hoping I could get one to come out that same day.

I was very happy when I contacted one and they told me they could be there within a couple of hours. My next concern was hoping that there was nothing major wrong with the water heater. I have an emergency fund but it was still getting built back up after a major car failure a few months ago. When the plumber came out, he went right to the water tank and looked at it. Thankfully, it was just a small part that was needed to fix it, and we had hot water again that same morning. Another crisis diverted, thanks to the emergency plumbing company that came right out!

Importance of Preventing Water Damage

About a year ago I moved to NJ. It was a nice house but there were a few things that I didn’t care for and that I wanted to fix. One thing happened to be in the bathroom. It was a nice bathroom, but I wasn’t crazy about the shower. When we would use it, some water would tend to get on the floor and one: I was afraid of permeant damage and I was sick of cleaning it up. This was why I searched for shower enclosure installer in nj. A better shower enclosure would mean that I could make sure that I could stop water from escaping the shower whenever any of us used it. I have lived in places that had water damage or known people who had water damage from bad showers in their bathrooms so I wanted to nip this in the bud right away.

I’m not going to lie. It was process that took some time, but let me tell you that it was so worth it in the end. I do not regret the time, effort, and money I put into getting a better shower enclosure so my shower prevented water from escaping. Now whenever I take a shower, there isn’t a hint of water on the ground save for what my body tracks onto the ground.

For the sake of your home’s health, please make sure your shower is in tip top shape and condition. It’s the best way to save yourself a headache and money in the future. Like with all business, compare and contrast in order to get the best deal but also find a place that has good quality. By doing this you will ensure the long term health of your home and that it will be a place you can safely live in for decades.

I Think of My Old Job when I Want to Complain

I have been working really hard lately, although it is not like when I was much younger and I would spend my summers working for a tree service in Hendersonville, NC. My uncle lived there and he knew the guy I worked for, something of a caricature of the hard drinking, hard working mountain man. I always think about him and those days when I want to complain about my job or I hear other people talk about how hard their work lives are. I would walk about three quarters of a mile at around a quarter to five in the morning and his wife would cook the two of us and her children these enormous breakfasts, usually bacon or country ham along with grits, cornbread, eggs, sawmill gravy and biscuits. Then we would be off and we would not come back until we got done.

If no one was paying him, then we would go and cut down trees for the lumber mills or for firewood. My job was pretty tough, but I spent all my time on the ground trying to make sure nothing fell from the sky and killed me. If we were in someone’s yard then you wanted to make sure that you did not leave big holes in the ground from where chunks of wood would fall thirty feet or more and go deep into the ground. You watch that and you think that you might be softer than the ground is quite often and one of those pieces of wood would probably do a great deal of damage to you if you stood in the wrong place beneath the tree that Bill was up in working. Of course back then I would go out drinking most nights, but not after 12 hours or so of this stuff.
