I was really not doing very much when it happened. In fact I was lost and parked on the side of the road trying to figure out where I was. I had my four way flashers on, but that did not do much good. I heard the sirens and I looked in my rear view mirror. I could see there was a car coming, but it had turned off it’s headlights and so I was not sure what was up. Luckily for me I had a more solidly built car and the chiropractor in Camas WA eventually fixed that was really wrong after the fact. That guy apparently had good reason to run from the State Highway Patrol. Later on I found out that he had robbed about ten convenience stores in the past month. He had stolen the car about two hundred miles away and he did not intend to get caught. After he rammed my car from behind the guy got out and took off hobbling across a hayfield. The officer caught him fairly easily.
It was about half an hour before they let me go, although it was not as though they really needed me. I was not exactly deeply involved in this matter. I had only been in the wrong place at the wrong time. They checked me out at the hospital and took a bunch of x rays, but that only told them that I needed to go see a chiropractor. I did not really think that was true, but they showed me how the vertebra in my back were not supposed to be where they were. The next morning when I tried to get up out of the bed I realized that this was the case. I suppose that the adrenalin had covered it up in the short term.
